shared body was conceived for the annual Site Unseen Exhibition themed "disabling conditions."
The lights of Preston Bradley Hall are turned down. Spotlights illuminate four sculptures by Madeleine Bailey.
The sculptures truncate limbs, rendering the performers' bodies inaccessible to the audience.
My bed sits in the corner of the Hall as a reminder of the inability to truly rest in the face of chronic pain.
The performers' movements are extracted from journal entries that describe the process of my recovery from a near debilitating accident.
